City Council is expected once again to hear the idea of a beach in Cody.
The topic is on the agenda of the council’s work session Tuesday, July 13. The meeting starts at 5 p.m.
A beach, which would be located at Markham Reservoir, was discussed Monday morning on KODI’s “Speak Your Piece with Darian Dudrick.” Dudrick’s guests were City Administrator Barry Cook and Public Works Director Phillip Bowman.
No other details of the beach are known at this time, but funding will be the biggest obstacle, Cook said, just as it was when one was proposed for Beck Lake Park more than seven years ago.
Jarden’s role would be ongoing rather than fixed-term, she said. Moloney wouldn’t comment directly on whether any of the approaches Sky had received to date were under active consideration but said it was expecting some of them would be “ongoing”. “For our side, we have got a strategy and we are going to be cracking on delivering it,” she said. Moloney said that as chief executive she would be interested in partnerships that drove more value for the company’s shareholders. “There has been industry consolidation but any partner that is going to help us be better at what we do already whether it is from a content or a tech perspective will obviously be of interest,” she said.

Sky has reported a 234 per cent jump in net profit to 39.6 million dollars, on the back of an 80 per cent spike in its streaming business.
Its total subscriber numbers bulged to 990-thousand in June last year as it brought on 154-thousand streamers with its acquisition of Spark s Lightbox, which was merged with Neon.
Sky Chairman, Philip Bowman, is encouraged by the solid results.
Derek Handley to step down from Sky board

Broadcaster Sky announced today that entrepreneur Derek Handley will step down from its board on 15 January.
Handley has served as a Director of Sky for seven years, including as a member of the People and Performance, and Audit Committees. Having overcome many challenges towards transformation, Sky is in a great position to deliver on its strategy with Sophie Moloney at the helm of a great team, Handley said.
Sky chairman Philip Bowman thanked Handley for his tenure with the company.

Bowman added that Sky will be looking for a replacement as part of an ongoing renewal process.
