BRYAN, TX â A Bryan man has been confirmed dead due to an apartment fire last Sunday night.
According to the Bryan Fire Department, on April 11, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at the 2700 block of Evergreen Circle, near Peppertree Drive.
The identity of the 68-year-old victim has been confirmed to be Melvin Moten; the preliminary cause of his death being smoke inhalation.
The Bryan Fire Department confirmed to KRHD 25 News, that preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by a cigarette and fueled by oxygen tanks inside; both reportedly belonged to the victim.

BRYAN, TX â Cities across the state are receiving the first shipment of Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine, which was approved late last week.
In Brazos County, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - College Station will be the first facility to receive the vaccine in the area.
The group is set to first vaccinate hospital staff working directly with patients who are positive or at high risk for COVID-19, as outlined in the first tier of Phase 1A directed by the Texas Department of State Health Services
âI think itâs incredibly important that the first people that are vaccinated against this particular virus are those first responders, because they are the ones that are coming into regular contact with this virus,â explained Timothy Callaghan, an Assistant Professor in Health Policy and Management at Texas A&M.
