Pending approval to clear final budget hurdles in the township s upcoming annual budget, Chief Andrew Miller said a grueling, three-year task of upgrading the department s computer servers and other preparations is largely done and they are in place to roll out fully equipped patrols in a matter of weeks after body cameras are approved for purchase.
He requested about $96,000 in capital expenditure from the 2020-21 budget, scheduled to be introduced during the first week of March. That should cover the purchase of 90 bodycams, enough to equip all patrols and supervisors in the field.
