Westwood Historical Society explores 1620: The First Year

For its first program of the year, the Westwood Historical Society will present Christopher Daley, via Zoom, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Daley has lectured all over New England on historical topics. In this program, he’ll share his knowledge about the Pilgrims and their landing at Plymouth Rock.
The first part of the talk will examine the difficult voyage over the Atlantic, the trials and tribulations that the Pilgrims met when they first arrived in the New World, and the help they received from the Wampanoag Nation.
Bojangles achieved a couple of firsts last month when it opened two restaurants inside Loveâs Travel Stops in Arkansas and Illinois. Those restaurants were the first of 40 planned inside Loveâs locations as part of a franchise development agreement signed in late 2019 and they also marked Bojanglesâ entry into both states.
Itâs the beginning of a broader development push for the Southern fried chicken and biscuits chain that in January 2019 was acquired by Durational Capital Management and The Jordan Company for $593 million in a take-private deal.
Bojangles, which already has franchisees with restaurants inside Loveâs in Georgia and Florida, examined those operations as it evaluated the truck stop and convenience store company as a franchisee, said Jose Costa, chief development officer at Bojangles. âWe used that internal data to analyze future performance,â he said.
