LOCAL LINKS: Mac n’ Kelly’s Pub & Grill
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - While many businesses struggled through the pandemic, a classic car dealership made a pivot, opening a new restaurant in Idaho Falls.
“With all the stock market issues and everything that happened last year, it was a really tough market to be in,” Scot “Mac” McGuire said.
McGuire and his business partner, David Kelly, started looking for business alternatives and decided to open a restaurant called Mac n’ Kelly’s Pub & Grill. The family-centered business has a Slot Car Drag Racing theme.
“The first thing people will notice is a big drag strip right through the middle of the building,” McGuire said. “We wanted to keep the slot car track because we had that at the other business… you start getting pretty creative when looking for a building that ll house one.”

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - This is literally a sweet story about how a local mom in Idaho Falls has taken the guilt out of eating chocolate.
As I sat in Kelsi Petersen’s kitchen, she began to share with me how a quest to eat better and live better turned into a successful business.
“It all started because of my mom,” Petersen said. “Her intestines flipped over and she s always been on a quest for health her whole life, but then when this happened she knew that she needed to find a way to eat cause her body wouldn t digest food anymore.”
LOCAL LINKS: Splash Self Serve Pet Spa
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - A do-it-yourself pet spa is making a big Splash in downtown Idaho Falls. It s fitting that the business name is Splash Self Serve Pet Spa. I just try to make it a fun place, said owner Tina Dixon. Customers say when they come around the corner, their dogs just go crazy.
Splash is a self-serve pet spa that utilizes waist-high bathing tubs. They provide everything from shampoo to towels for one flat price. She first opened in 2014 on Broadway St. because she believed people needed a place to bond with their pets without the mess of bathing at home. She s even partnered with animal shelters and humane societies to offer a safe place for new adoptions to get to know their owners. Dixon has also found that even seasoned pet owners have begun to lean on her for pet care education.

SHELLEY, Idaho (KIFI) - It s no secret that more people are moving to eastern Idaho. Between California and Texas, new people and new places are popping up all over the valley, including Ruben Estrada from San Antonio. I tell everyone to find a small rural town and surround yourself with the people, Estrada said.
Estrada moved to the Gem State after he was hired to be a culinary chef in Island Park. Although he was promised a year-round gig, he was laid off come winter. I moved my wife here and to make ends meet, I went out with a smoker and started selling to whoever would take it, he said.
