Arrest made in fatal shooting at Briarwood Apartments
Man killed in shooting at Briarwood Apartments BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. A man who is the suspect in a murder that happened in the parking lot of the Briarwood Apartments has been arrested in Wisconsin, according to the Benton Township Police Department.
Police said US Marshals took Keveonte Barksdale into custody around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
He will be held in Wisconsin until his extradition to Michigan.
Around 4 a.m. on December 8, police were called to 1869 Union for reports of two men arguing in the parking lot and shots fired.
When they arrived, they learned the victim, a 27-year-old Devin Williams , had been pronounced deceased at the hospital.
A woman was sexually assaulted early Friday morning by an intruder at her home off Owen Drive and police suspect the attack may be related to three others in the area, according to a statement released Friday evening by the Fayetteville Police Department.
The most recent incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. Friday, when a woman was awakened by an intruder, described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5-feet 5-inches tall with a thin build and thin mustache. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark pants with red shorts underneath and colorful shoes, according to the news release.
The intruder fled after the assault, police said.

The most recent incident happened during the early morning hours Friday at the Briarwood Apartments off Owen Drive. A woman told authorities that a man broke into her bedroom while she was asleep, sexually assaulted her then ran away on foot.
The victim described the intruder as a Black man between 5-feet-5 and 5-feet-6 inches tall, between the ages of 20 and 25 years old with a thin build and a thin mustache. She said he was wearing a dark-color jacket and dark pants with red shorts underneath with colorful shoes.
