PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A fire that broke out Tuesday morning at a townhouse in Pembroke Pines and then reignited hours later is believed to have been caused by an electrical problem, authorities said.
The fire was first reported around 3:15 a.m. in the 8900 block of Palm Tree Lane and it reignited around 8:30 a.m., authorities said. In total, firefighters spent nine hours battling the blaze in the Westview neighborhood that has destroyed at least six units.
“At one point you could sit there and watch the fire bouncing from building to building,” said Curtis Jantz, who lost his home in the blaze.
