The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council elected new board officers for 2021 at its meeting on February 8. The leadership reflects the Council s wide geographic reach, with leaders hailing from Manatee, Pinellas and Pasco counties.
Pasco County Commissioner Jack Mariano is the new chair of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council board. St. Petersburg City Council member Brandi Gabbard is vice-chair and Manatee County Commissioner Vanessa Baugh is secretary-treasurer. Bradenton City Council member Patrick Roff is immediate past-chair.

First elected in 2004 to the Pasco County Commission, Jack Mariano is currently serving his fourth term. He is a past chair of the Pasco County board of commissioners as well as of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council.

ST. PETERSBURG â The item on Thursdayâs City Council agenda didnât appear to be controversial.
Mayor Rick Krisemanâs administration sought to hire a consultant to help it weed through eight proposals it received last week for the massive Tropicana Field redevelopment project. The consultant, HR&A Advisors, was to help the city weigh the strengths and weaknesses of the proposals and negotiate with the winning developer.

ST. PETERSBURG â Now that the national campaign season is over, a local one is just beginning: 2021 is an election year in the Sunshine City.
Four City Council seats are on the ballot, with two members being forced to leave because of term limits. But the most high profile, expensive and contentious race will surely be for mayor.
