Bradford Public Library will host an American Girl Party Saturday, April 10, 2021. Girls in grades K-5 may sign up for one time slot, either from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12 noon to 1 p.m. Sign-ups are limited to 10 young ladies per time slot, so call 937-448-2612 to register for the event.

Bradford Library eliminating overdue fees

BRADFORD The Bradford Public Library is pleased to announce that it will be eliminating overdue fines starting March 1, 2021. This will be a temporary service through the end of the calendar year. We know that many of our patrons have been struggling as a result of the pandemic and we want to ease some of the burden for you. This move ensures that our public library is living up to its commitment to provide free and equal access to information, knowledge, independent learning and the joys of reading for our community.
For the remainder of 2021, items that are returned late will not have an overdue fine charged. Items that have been “lost” by a patron will be welcomed back as long as they are not damaged, and any overdue fines associated with those items will be waived. Bradford Public Library will be hosting its second “Soup Swap” Saturday, Mar. 13, 2021 from 11 to 12 p.m. This is a great opportunity to put some soup back for those chilly days in late winter and early spring.

BRADFORD The Bradford Public Library will be hosting its second “Soup Swap” Saturday, Mar. 13, 2021, from 11 to 12 p.m.
Participants will need to sign up at the library to attend. When signing up, please pick up a containers and recipe card. Then, each participant simply makes the soup at home, packages it in the containers provided, and brings it in with the recipe on the day of the swap.
COVID-19: Fifth resident dies in Sullivan County nursing home outbreak

UNITY A fifth resident of the Sullivan County nursing home has died after testing positive for COVID-19 during an ongoing outbreak at the facility, according to the administrator.
A total of 128 people have tested positive during the outbreak at the Unity nursing home, including 82 residents and 46 workers, 30 of whom have recovered and returned to work, facility administrator Ted Purdy said in a Thursday email.
Nearby, an outbreak at the Sullivan County Department of Corrections included a total of 45 cases, including 33 inmates and 12 employees as of Thursday, County Manager Derek Ferland said in an email. Six employees and six inmates have recovered.
