A NEW scheme has been launched to reward volunteers in Keighley and across the Bradford district. The initiative sees volunteers receive digital coins, which can then be exchanged for discounts on goods and services at participating stores. People join the Citizen Coin venture via a mobile app. Once registered, they can choose activities to complete and will then be rewarded with coins – which they can use themselves or gift to other people or organisations. The scheme – which is supported by Bradford for Everyone, led by the Bradford Council Stronger Communities team – is open to existing and new volunteers. Councillor Abdul Jabar, Bradford Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and community safety, said: “People across our district give-up so much of their time to help others and volunteer to make the district a great place to live and work – and this is one way in which they can be rewarded.
