Robert Iacobucci was found deceased in his Pondside Lane home, “the victim of an apparent homicide,” state police said in a brief statement Tuesday. The New Britain State’s Attorney’s Office requested the state police Central District Major Crime Squad to investigate the homicide with Rocky Hill police around 8:45 p.m. Monday, the agency said. Law enforcement found Iacabucci’s vehicle was missing from the home. It was later recovered in New Britain, and two people were “detained . in connection with the stolen vehicle,” state police said.

Franklyn Cruz, age 42, and Madeline Dickey, age 35, both of New Britain, were charged with murder and robbery in the death of Robert Iacobucci, 75, in Rocky Hill, state police. Officers discovered Iacobucci’s body about 7:20 p.m. Monday, April 5, in his house on Pondside Lane when they went to check on him, police said.  His vehicle was later found in the City of New Britain. Police did not elaborate on a cause of death but did say it did not appear to be from natural causes.

Each was in custody on $1 million bail. Officers found Iacobucci’s body in his home in Rocky Hill on Monday, state police said.
