WCCB Charlotte s CW April 12, 2021 CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A new law in Utah will now require biological fathers to be legally obligated to pay for half of their partner’s pregnancy costs. The bill’s sponsor, republican Representative Brady Brammer says it applies to a pregnant woman’s health insurance premiums and any pregnancy-related medical costs. Brammer hopes that it will lessen the burden on mothers while increasing responsibility on the part of fathers. It’s the first bill of its kind in the United States.
