CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Facebook is blaming President Joe Biden for using the social media platform as a scapegoat for the administration not reaching its vaccine goals. It’s in response to Biden’s accusation that Facebook is killing people by allowing vaccine misinformation to spread.
So far, the United States is just shy of having half the population vaccinated against COVID. The President and his administration have blamed misinformation online about vaccine safety for hindering vaccination efforts and prolonging the pandemic.
A reporter asked Biden, “On COVID misinformation. What’s your message to platforms like Facebook?” President Biden replied, “They’re killing people. I mean they’re really…look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated.”
6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Reported near the California Nevada Border

A 6.0-magnitude earthquake occurred about 20 miles southeast of Markleeville, California which is along the California-Nevada border on Thursday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, “this earthquake occurred as the result of normal faulting in the shallow crust of the North America plate. This earthquake occurred along the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada, a major physiographic boundary along the California-Nevada border.”

North Carolina is set to host the next $1m Covid-19 vaccine cash drawing on Wednesday at 10am. After the numbers are drawn for both contests, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will determine the identities of the vaccinated individuals that correspond to those numbers. This is the third of four million drawings to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
