After 2 years, sheriff s office seeks new leads in unsolved deadly home invasion The sheriff’s office is close to knowing exactly what occurred that night but needs your help, the sheriff s office said. Author: Investigators are asking for the public s help to find the person who broke into 76-year-old Evelyn Adams rural Mankato home during a winter storm and fatally attacked her two years ago.  Feb. 23 marked the two-year anniversary of the home invasion, and the Blue Earth County Sheriff s Office is using the somber occasion to remind the public of the unsolved case – and hopefully get needed information to solve it. 

Lake Crystal woman dies in county jail cell

The Free Press MANKATO — Authorities are investigating the death of a 60-year-old Lake Crystal woman who’d been jailed in Mankato Thursday, Capt. Paul Barta, Blue Earth County investigator, said in a press release. Nancy Lou Antonson was unresponsive when she was checked about 8:20 a.m. Friday in a cell at Blue Earth County Jail. Lifesaving efforts by jail staff and ambulance personnel were unsuccessful. A deputy had arrested Antonson at about 8:15 p.m. Thursday for suspicion of DWI and drug possession. She then was turned over to the Blue Earth County Jail. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office is involved in the investigation
