A $162 million redevelopment concept that would energize the historic commercial heart of Troost Avenue by adding apartments, retail, office and an amphitheater is being pursued by Midtown Development Partners.
Tim Bowman, the partnership leader, envisions capitalizing on the art deco character of the historic buildings fronting the east side of Troost between 31st Street and Linwood Boulevard, and creating a destination not only for the neighborhood, but the entire metro.

As a child, it wasn’t Christmas until Eric Depradine’s grandmother uncorked her home-brewed hibiscus drink. Made from the vibrant magenta-colored tropical bloom, the drink had a tart cranberry-like flavor.
An immigrant from the village of Manzanilla on the island of Trinidad, Ena Depradine (pronounced deh-PRAH-deen) settled in Boston in the 1970s, and she brought with her knowledge of how to make a variety of fermented beverages using honey, fruits, flowers, herbs and spices.

Multnomah County is hosting an online open house on the four choices for a new earthquake-ready Burnside Bridge.
The open house, which continues through Sunday, Feb. 21, includes artists renderings of the bridge types under considering, including the long-span design favored by 88% of the public in a 2020 survey. Also included is the county s first 360-degree video also shows how the different types would look, superimposed in the setting of today s bridge. Viewers can shift the screen view 360 degrees using their computer mouse, moving their cell phone or wearing a VR headset.
