ROCK ISLAND, Ill. Rock Island County State Attorney Dora Villarreal hosted a town hall to answer questions from community members about the state of her office Monday night.
Villarreal fielded a variety of questions related to the shooting of Deshawn Tatum. Tatum was shot by police during an incident on April first where police say he ran from officers. Tatum had a warrant out for his arrest and was considered armed and dangerous.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. A crowd calling for justice in the wake of a deadly officer-involved shooting gathered at the Rock Island Police Department and the Rock Island County Justice Center Monday morning, April 12.
Dozens of people showed up at these public buildings holding large signs that said Justice for Deshawn .

(Rock Island, IL) A Rock Island man is behind bars, charged with attempted murder following a weekend shooting.
Police say around 2:00 Sunday morning, officers were called to the 900 block of 42nd Avenue for a reported shooting. Investigators say the responding officers found a car parked in the area with a gunshot victim inside. The victim, 40 year old Kelvin Bell, was taken to the hospital before being transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
During the investigation, officers identified 39 year old Devin Johnson as a suspect. Johnson was charged with attempted murder and felony obstruction of justice.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. A 19-year-old was hospitalized after a shooting left him with life-threatening injuries.
According to a statement from the Rock Island Police Department, the 19-year-old man was shot around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, January 21 in the Douglas Park Neighborhood near 16th Avenue and 7th Street.
The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital before being transferred to Peoria for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown.
