Glasgow Pollok residents warn of 'dangerous' grass verges

Long grass in the central reservation on Brockburn Road, Pollok near the junction with Netherplace Rd and Levernside Crescent. Photograph by Colin Mearns.23 July 2021.For GT, see story by Heather Carrick.. POLLOK residents are furious after overgrown grass verges in the neighbourhood have been left in a “dangerous” state. Locals have claimed that central reservations on roads such as Brockburn Road, Braidcraft Road and Barrhead Road have been left abandoned by the council, after grass was left uncut for multiple weeks during the height of summer. Drivers in the area have blasted the council for leaving it to grow and say that the unattended grass verges, which stand almost two feet high, have resulted in dangerous driving conditions.
