COLUMBUS, Ohio – A House committee has boosted education funding as part of its finishing touches to a state budget plan, setting up the bill for approval by the full House as soon as Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the House Finance Committee tweaked the school-funding overhaul contained in the two-year, $74.4 billion budget bill, adding another $115 million for K-12 schools. Including the new money, the bill now calls for increasing K-12 funding by $360.7 million over two years. When the plan is fully implemented in 2027, it would boost school funding by $2 billion annually.
