A group of Bangladesh Chhatra League men confined Rajshahi University Vice-chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan, two pro vice-chancellors and the proctor at the VC s residence in the university campus tonight, demanding jobs at the university.
The VC and Pro VC Prof Choudhury Zakaria, Pro VC Prof Anand Kumar Saha and Proctor Prof Lutfor Rahman were still confined as of filing this report around 11:00pm, reports our RU correspondent from the spot.
Nearly 25-30 leaders and activists of RU BCL former and incumbent committees confined them inside Abdus Sobhan s residence by padlocking the main gate, said RU BCL unit vice president Faruk Hossain.

At least 12 people were killed and eight others injured as a train hit a bus on a level crossing near Joypurhat town yesterday morning.
The gateman had left the crossing s gate open, said police after primary investigation.
All the victims were travelling on the bus.
The accident happened in Joypurhat s Puranpoil area around 7:00am when intercity train Uttara Express from Dinajpur was on its way to Rajshahi, said police quoting locals.
