PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - During his mayoral campaign, Paragould Mayor Josh Agee made it clear that he wanted to install more cameras at local parks and areas where crime is high.
And after just surpassing 100 days in office, the first of these new camera systems are ready to be put up.
Technical Captain Brad Snyder of Paragould Police said that the current plan is to put the cameras up at parks first, and then take care of high-crime areas afterward.

A primary school in Arkansas is investigating one of its teachers for allegedly taping two children to their chairs in a classroom. The alleged incident was reported to have taken place at Greene County Tech Primary School in Paragould.
The Greene County Tech School District, which runs that school and several others in the area, and Paragould police have confirmed they have launched a probe into the incident.
The mother of one of the two pupils, who sought remain anonymous, spoke with Region 8 News about the incident, which allegedly took place on March 9.

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - A man accused of opening fire on a Paragould police officer to avoid arrest will not be getting out of jail for a while.
Taj Christopher Harris, 21, is being held without bond after Greene County District Court Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause Monday to arrest him on the following charges:
Battery in the first degree
Aggravated assault
Obstructing governmental operations
According to the affidavit, Harris shot at a Paragould police officer numerous times while attempting to avoid arrest.

PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) - A Greene County woman faces an attempted murder-1st degree charge after Paragould police say the woman was recorded on tape talking about poisoning her husband.
Tina Glasco, 56, of Paragould was arrested Dec. 30 after the investigation by Paragould police.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Paragould police found out Dec. 29 about threats reportedly made by Glasco.
