Indus Towers posts consolidated profit of Rs 1,360 cr in Dec quarter

The country s largest mobile tower company Indus Towers on Thursday posted a consolidated profit of Rs 1,360 crore for the third quarter ended December 2020. Indus Towers, formerly Bharti Infratel, had reported a profit after tax of Rs 1,331 crore in the same period a year ago. Indus Towers merged with Bharti Infratel Limited on November 19, hence the financial performance of the company is not comparable with the past period, it added. Consolidated revenues for the quarter stood at Rs 6,736 crore. The company had clocked a revenue of Rs 6,443 crore in the corresponding period of 2019-20. This was a milestone quarter for the Company with the completion of merger between Bharti Infratel Limited and erstwhile Indus Towers.

An induction session was also conducted for the scholars to orient them about the methodology of claiming and mode of scholarship disbursement. Mr. B. Kalyan Chakravorty, IAS, Mission Director-SSA was the chief guest of the event.

Bharti Infratel nears 52-week high; stock zooms 40% in a month

Shares of Bharti Infratel traded 3 per cent higher at Rs 252.85 on the BSE on Monday, after the company said it has received the approval from the Registrar of Companies (ROC) for changing its name to Indus Towers, following the recent merger of the two companies to create a mega tower entity. The stock of the company, engaged in activities of providing telecom tower infrastructure sharing for telecommunication services, is trading close to its 52-week high of Rs 262.80, touched on December 20, 2019. The company has received approval from the Registrar of Companies, the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi and Haryana for change of name of the company from Bharti Infratel Limited to Indus Towers Limited as provided in the scheme of amalgamation and arrangement between the company and erstwhile Indus Towers Limited and their respective shareholders and creditors, Bharti Infratel said in a BSE filing.
