Huntsville Senior Softball Recreation League celebrated its 20th year with a barbecue and two five-inning games July 27.
Bernita Reese, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Huntsville, threw out the first pitch on field 1 at Brahan Spring Park. July is Parks and Recreation Month.
âAs always we honor our, as we say, our âseasonedâ residents,â Reese said.
The league is co-sponsored by Huntsville Parks and Recreation and the Huntsville Senior Center. Itâs for men 63 and over and women 55 and over.
âWe havenât lost our enthusiasm for the game,â Scott Apgar, the director of the Huntsville Senior Softball Recreation League, said.
