Starting tomorrow morning and ending on Saturday this former KMART now mass vaccine site is expected to vaccinate over 4,000 people And right now they are looking to fill 1,500 openings. This is the second mass vaccine event at this location this month. Over people were vaccinated last time. The goal this time is to double that. As I said, over 3,000 people ARE already registered and CNS is looking to fill 1,500 more spots. Lebanon County s only county-run mass site for coronavirus vaccinations opened Wednesday in an ex-Kmart building, with 611 people scheduled to be vaccinated in the first day and 3,000 total over a three-day period. It feels overdue, said Bob Dowd, director of the county s department of emergency services. We are thrilled we are able to make this happen. I think there s been a lot of frustration surrounding the availability of vaccines. We re hoping this alleviates a lot of that.

Anticipation was indeed so great that all 3,000 appointments were claimed within about 18 hours of their announcement, Dowd said. Supply is limited such that vaccinations can only take place by appointment, currently of those that are in category 1A, per state rules.

Dowd added it will be several weeks before the site is up and running. Officials are estimating that when the site is ready, it might only operate one or two days a week up to six hours a day because of limited vaccine supplies.
It will still be by appointment only, he said. This will not going be a walk-up vaccine site because there is not enough vaccine supplies for that type of volume yet.
County officials are working with several vaccine providers for the site, including Hershey Pharmacy, WellSpan Health and CNS Protects. Officials said WellSpan Health will be the primary provider at the site.
