About 40 hours after being rescued via emergency helicopter south of Pocatello, a 46-year-old Blackfoot man was rescued again Sunday evening, according to the Bannock County Sheriffâs Office.
Stacey D. James and his 12-year-old son were flown out of the Mink Creek area south of Pocatello safe and unharmed just before noon Saturday via Portneuf Medical Centerâs air ambulance after becoming stranded in the snowy wilderness when one snowmobile got stuck and another broke down, authorities told the Idaho State Journal on Saturday.
On Sunday evening around 5 p.m., James and another man went back into the Mink Creek area to retrieve the two stranded snowmobiles and ended up getting stranded in the mountains again, according to Bannock County Search and Rescue Commander Torey Danner.

They were found in the Mink Creek area in Bannock County and are reportedly safe.
A dispatcher with Bannock County Sheriff’s Office says the two were checked out by Portneuf Air Rescue and were not hospitalized. They will be reunited with their family later today.

BLACKFOOT – Bingham County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two missing snowmobilers.
According to a news release, Stacey James, 46, and his 12-year-old son left the Blackfoot area Friday around 12:30 p.m. in a black 2003 GMC Sierra pulling a snowmobile trailer with one or two snowmobiles.
Local couple facing felony grand theft charges over stolen coins

POCATELLO A local couple has been charged with grand theft for allegedly stealing a box of rare coins off the front porch of a Pocatello home.
Steven Ray Fillmore, 36, was arrested Saturday after a Facebook post from the Pocatello Police Department led to his connection in the theft. Tasheena Elaine Russom, 36, was taken into custody one day later for her alleged involvement.
Officers from the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and Pocatello Police Department were dispatched to a home in the Highland area just after 12:30 p.m. last Friday after reports of a stolen package were received, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
On Monday evening, a Rexburg Police Department officer shot and killed a 50-year-old man at an apartment complex while responding to a complaint about an âunwanted subject.â
The events leading up to the shooting have not been made public, but the incident is the fourth fatal shooting by police in eastern Idaho in a week, and the fifth shooting incident overall.
Eastern Idaho typically sees two to three fatal shootings a year. The past week, however, has seen an unprecedented level of gun violence.
Law enforcement officers also have shot and killed individuals in Idaho Falls, Bingham County and Pocatello. Additionally, a suspect wanted in connection to a break in and shooting incident in Idaho Falls also shot at Chubbuck police officers while fleeing last week. In that incident officers did not return fire.
