Man facing burglary charge for alleged December CAL Ranch break-in

CHUBBUCK A Shelley man could face up to 15 years in prison for allegedly breaking into the Chubbuck CAL Ranch store in December.
At the end of last year, Cody Abe Winterbottom, 32, was charged with burglary, a felony that carries with it a prison term of one to 10 years, and fines up to $50,000. Along with the burglary charge, prosecutors attached a persistent violator enhancement, which carries an additional penalty of at least five years.
Police reports show at about 6:15 a.m., on Dec. 19, officers from the Chubbuck Police Department and Bannock County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple security alarms at the CAL Ranch store at the Pine Ridge Mall, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

CARIBOU COUNTY, Idaho (KIFI) - The Caribou County Sheriff’s Office reports two Colorado individuals were arrested Wednesday night after a high-speed chase that started in Soda Springs.
At about 8 p.m., officers attempted to stop a traffic violator who failed to yield and attempted to outrun the pursuing law enforcement vehicles.
The sheriff s office reports the pursuit reached speeds of approx. 130 mph along US30 toward Bannock County, with the suspect turning off his vehicle lights several times while approaching and passing other vehicles.
Idaho State Police troopers assisted by deploying spikes to deflate the suspect s tires at the McCammon interchange.

CHUBBUCK A Shelley man is in Chubbuck police custody after he allegedly tried to hide from officers inside of the C-A-L Ranch Store on Yellowstone Avenue early Saturday morning.
At 6:15 a.m., officers with the Chubbuck Police Department and Bannock County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alarm activation at the C-A-L Ranch Store at 4115 Yellowstone Avenue.
Upon checking the business, officers said they discovered an opened door and Winterbottomm hiding in the store. He was arrested and booked into Bannock County Jail on one count of felony burglary.
