CALDWELL, Idaho The Idaho Transportation Department is expanding its courtesy towing service on Interstate 84 in Canyon County. The service, which was introduced in 2019 in Nampa, will now include the I-84 construction zones in Caldwell.
The Safety Services Patrol provides complimentary towing for disabled vehicles in the I-84 construction zone. ITD says the service has assisted 274 vehicles since it began. I-84 is the main commuting and freight route for thousands of drivers in Canyon County, said Mark Campbell, ITD project manager. Our goal in funding this service is to keep these drivers moving as safely and efficiently as possible as construction moves west toward Caldwell.

A VDOT contract employee and Virginia State Police trooper narrowly escaped being injured Thursday morning when their vehicles were struck on Interstate 64 in Henrico County.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. A Virginia State Police trooper and a VDOT contract worker narrowly avoided tragedy when their vehicles were hit by a pickup truck along I-64 in Henrico County Thursday morning.
Troopers were investigating after a vehicle ran off the right side of the interstate around mile marker 204 at 5:50 a.m.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - State police say a pickup truck struck a VDOT Safety Service Patrol (SSP) and a Virginia State Police (VSP) vehicle on I-64 in Henrico.
At approximately 5:50 a.m., state police were investigating a traffic crash on I-64 at mile marker 204. A vehicle had run off the right side of the roadway.

AFTON, Va. (WVIR) - Virginia State Police say a Virginia Department of Transportation Safety Services Patrol employee is receiving treatment for life-threating injuries after he was struck by a tractor trailer on Interstate-64 Wednesday afternoon.
VSP says the incident happened at the 98 mile marker of I-64 just after 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 16. The VDOT worker was helping a disabled motorist when a tractor trailer lost control, slid onto the shoulder, hit the worker, and then hit the SSP vehicle before continuing westbound on I-64.
