New Delhi, May 17 : India s participation in this month s Asian Boxing Championships in Dubai looks doubtful as its 20-member team hasn t got the visas, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) secretary said on Monday.
The competition is scheduled to start on May 21. The Indian team includes 10 women boxers. The Indian men and women s boxing teams haven t got visas to travel to Dubai. We are, however, trying our level best to send the teams, BFI secretary Hemanta Kalita told IANS.

New Delhi, April 28 : The Poland-bound national men and women s relay squads were grounded by the Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) on Wednesday due to rising Covid-19 cases in India.
The national men s 4x400m and women s 4x100 relay squads were supposed to compete in World Relays in the Polish city of Chorzow on May 1 and 2. They were to reach Chorzow via Amsterdam.
However, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) was informed by KLM that the Indian athletes can t board the flight to Amsterdam from Mumbai due to latest travel restrictions imposed on Indian travellers by the Netherlands government.

New Delhi, April 26 : The extension of lockdown in Delhi till May 3 and a surge in Covid-19 cases have put next month s Asian Boxing Championships in doubt.
The event, to be held here at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Sports Complex, is scheduled to begin on May 21 but with rising cases, there are concerns. The elite men and women s boxing tournament is scheduled to start from May 21, but the prevailing situation is so scary that participating countries wouldn t like to travel to New Delhi, which is one of the hotspots for coronavirus in India, a Boxing Federation of India (BFI) official told IANS.
