The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has decided to restart non-COVID treatment facilities at the post graduate institute of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) following the decline in cases.
In April, due to the surge in cases, PCMC had converted the YCMH into a dedicated
COVID facility. The decision was taken to prevent
non-COVID patients from getting exposed to the virus. However, anticipating the third wave, a department for paediatric COVID cases will be kept ready.

Pune, have tested positive for COVID-19 even after receiving their first doses of the vaccine.
The positive patients include a 35-year-old medical officer from the New Bhosari Hospital. He had taken his first jab on January 16. He developed symptoms four days ago and tested positive on Tuesday 36 days after the first injection.
Another 45-year-old doctor from a private hospital and a 44-year-old private healthcare worker from Pimpri-Chinchwad tested positive for COVID. They experienced mild symptoms within days of receiving the vaccine and underwent a test. They are undergoing treatment at present.

Pune: Pimpri-Chinchwad might soon witness more stringent steps being taken, amid the spike of Covid cases. PCMC provided a hint of starting the tough steps from today and conducted a meeting yesterday.
Ajit Pawar, civic body Additional Municipal Commissioner told the Indian Express yesterday, “We have registered a rise in Covid cases in the past few days. We are holding an urgent meeting today and we will release the measures to be taken to control the spread of the virus.”
