SUTTON A tentative fiscal year 2022 school budget that would increase by 5% over the current budget was presented Monday night, Jan. 4, by School Superintendent Theodore F. Friend to the Sutton School Committee.
The total request of about $19.3 million is just over $900,000 higher than current spending.
Salaries make up the bulk of the budget, at nearly $14,557,000, a hike of $524,000 from current salary spending. The increases reflect increases for teachers and administrators and the hiring of new positions.
Those posts include one full-time adjustment counselor, 6.8 full-time equivalent instructional assistants, .5 full-time equivalent of a preschool teacher and one full-time equivalent of an IT support position.
