The CBI has suspended its Inspector Kapil Dhankad and Stenographer Sameer Kumar Singh for allegedly receiving bribes to give away probe-related information and compromise on investigation into two cases of bank fraud totalling Rs 4,300 crore, days after it booked them and two officers.

Two Central Bureau of Investigation officials have been suspended by the agency, while two senior ranking officials are facing administrative action for allegedly taking bribes from a bank fraud accused. All four have been named as accused in the case. This development comes after the CBI raided several places including its own headquarters in the bribery case on Thursday.
All four have been named in the FIR for receiving bribe from the bank fraud accused.

Days after booking its four personnel for allegedly receiving bribe to compromise on investigation against companies accused of bank fraud, the CBI has suspended two of them Inspector Kapil Dhankad and Stenographer Samir Kumar Singh and recommended administrative action against the other two. Officials said on Saturday that the agency has recommended to the Department of Personnel and Training to initiate administrative action against deputy superintendents of police R K Rishi and R K Sangwan. The Department of Personnel and Training is the nodal ministry for the CBI, they said. According to the charges levelled in the eight-page FIR, made public on Friday after the completion of a search operation by the agency, Inspector Dhankad received bribe money from Sangwan and Rishi, who were soliciting favours for Shree Shyam Pulp and Board Mills, accused in a Rs 700-crore bank fraud

New Delhi, Jan 16 : Giving a clear message of zero tolerance, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday suspended its Inspector and steno named in a corruption case, sources said.
The development comes two days after the CBI, in much embarrassment carried out searches at 14 locations in several cities including its own officers.
A CBI source, connected to the probe told IANS, The Inspector and the steno named in the corruption case have been suspended.

The agency said the officers who were booked not only received regular kickbacks for compromising investigations but also acted as conduits to bribe their colleagues.

New Delhi: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials booked for graft by the central probe agency were not only receiving regular kickbacks for compromising investigations, but were also acting as conduits to bribe their peers on behalf of companies accused of siphoning off crores of public money from banks, the FIR against them alleges.
