Blackburn Magistrates Court A WOMAN set fire to buildings on an allotment because she believed the tenant had taken it off her grandad.
Blackburn magistrates heard Laura Howatson believed her grandad was still alive but the new tenant was under the impression he had died and that was why he had been offered the plot. Laura Howatson, 35, of Greenhill, Great Harwood, pleaded guilty to arson causing £2,264 worth of damage to property belonging to Peter Key and possession of cannabis and, on a separate occasion, possession of an offensive weapon, a large knife. She was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced on July 30.
