Michigan DNR selling public land at online auction how to buy

DETROIT (FOX 2) - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will be auctioning off parcels of public land online.
The parcels are in Antrim, Baraga, Benzie, Berrien, Delta, Gogebic, Midland, and Oakland counties. The DNR said it selected 10 parcels of public land that would be best suited for private ownership to auction off.

State data Wednesday showed 46 more confirmed COVID-19 positives in the Upper Peninsula, including five in Iron County and two in Dickinson County, plus two new deaths blamed on the coronavirus.
For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Wednesday had seven new confirmed positives in Menominee and Marquette counties; six in Gogebic County; five in Iron and Mackinac counties; four in Baraga County; three in Ontonagon County; two in Dickinson, Delta and Houghton counties; and one each in Schoolcraft, Luce and Keweenaw counties. Marquette and Baraga counties each had a new death.

ESCANABA Data from local health officials Wednesday showed only two more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Delta County and no new cases in Menominee County.
The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website update Wednesday also reduced Delta County’s probable cases by one and listed three new probables in Menominee County. Neither county recorded a new death.
As of Wednesday, Delta County has had 3,295 confirmed positives, 675 probable cases and 90 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,776 confirmed, 323 probable and 40 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable.
State data Wednesday had seven new confirmed positives in Menominee County, two in Delta County and one in Schoolcraft County. State numbers are updated almost daily but can lag behind local reports or have other discrepancies.

The counties are primarily located in highly regulated states – like Michigan and California – that have suffered catastrophic economic and mental health impacts amid months of business closures and mask mandates.
Late last year, county commissioners in Campbell County, Virginia passed a “First Amendment Sanctuary” resolution, declaring that “(n)o Campbell County funds will be used to restrict the First Amendment.” No funding “shall be expended to aid federal or state agencies in the restriction of said rights,” it added.
“We’re not going to utilize county resources to enforce the governor’s orders,” a district representative from the county told local news. “We’re not going to aid the Virginia Department of Health in shutting our businesses down.”

Local health officials Monday reported nine more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County along with almost 50 recovered from the virus since its last update Thursday.
In a Facebook post Monday morning, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department also listed seven new positives and four recovered cases in Iron County.
The agency had Dickinson County at 2,380 confirmed positives and 328 probable cases, with 2,460 recovered, 72 deaths and 176 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD had 965 confirmed cases and 69 probables, with 907 recovered, 48 deaths and 79 active cases.
For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Monday added 38 new confirmed positives since Saturday: seven in Baraga County; six in Delta County; four in Marquette and Gogebic counties; three in Iron, Menominee and Houghton counties; two in Dickinson, Mackinac and Chippewa counties; and one each in Ontonagon and Luce
