Single-digit increase in local virus cases | News, Sports, Jobs

May 8, 2021 Delta County reported only three more confirmed COVID-19 positives and Menominee County only one new case Friday, data from local health officials showed. The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website update Friday also listed two new probable cases in Delta County and one in Menominee County. No new deaths were recorded in either county. As of Friday, Delta County has had 3,271 confirmed positives, 660 probable and 89 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,761 confirmed cases, 321 probable and 39 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable. State data Friday had eight new confirmed positives in Schoolcraft County for a second straight day, plus six in Delta County and one in Menominee County.

The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website update Thursday also listed one new probable case in Delta County. As of Thursday, Delta County has had 3,268 confirmed positives, 658 probable and 89 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,760 confirmed cases, 320 probable and 39 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable. State data Thursday had 10 new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Delta County tied with Marquette County as the highest rise for the day in the Upper Peninsula plus eight in Schoolcraft County and six in Menominee County. The state recorded two new deaths for the region, both in Delta County.

DIDHD: Iron County has 12 new virus cases, Dickinson 9 | News, Sports, Jobs

Daily News staff Local health officials Thursday reported a dozen more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Iron County and nine new cases in Dickinson County since its last update Monday. In a Facebook post Thursday morning, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department also listed six new probable cases in Dickinson County and five recovered cases. The agency had Dickinson County at 2,371 confirmed positives and 329 probable cases, with 2,411 recovered, 72 deaths and 217 cases still active. For Iron County, the DIDHD had 958 confirmed cases and 69 probables, with 903 recovered, 48 deaths and 76 active cases. For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Thursday added 60 new confirmed positives: 10 in Delta and Marquette counties; eight in Schoolcraft County; seven in Baraga County; six in Menominee County; five in Houghton County; four in Chippewa and Mackinac counties; three in Iron County; and one each in Dickinson, Ontonago

Iron County adds eight virus cases; Dickinson has two | News, Sports, Jobs

Daily News staff State data Wednesday showed eight more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Iron County but only two new cases in Dickinson County. For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Wednesday added 46 new confirmed positives: 10 in Marquette County; eight in Iron and Baraga counties; six in Delta County; five in Houghton County; three in Mackinac County; two in Dickinson and Menominee counties; and one each in Schoolcraft, Luce and Gogebic counties; Chippewa County’s count was reduced by one. Baraga County had the region’s only new coronavirus-related death. Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Wednesday has had 19,332 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 412 deaths.
