ESCANABA State health data Thursday showed 17 more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Delta County for a second straight day, but the county did not lead the Upper Peninsula in new cases.
Marquette County saw a jump of 34 more positives as the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Thursday recorded 84 new confirmed cases in the region’s 15 counties.
Along with the confirmed positives in Marquette and Delta counties, the MDHHS site listed seven new cases in Iron and Chippewa counties; five in Houghton County; four in Baraga County; three in Schoolcraft, Dickinson and Mackinac counties; and one in Keweenaw County. The state also had new deaths in Dickinson, Mackinac and Baraga counties.

ESCANABA Delta County has gained 32 more confirmed COVID-19 positives since Monday and Menominee County six new cases, data from local health officials showed.
The Public Health of Delta and Menominee Counties website update Wednesday also listed 19 new probable cases in Delta County, while Menominee County had another three probable cases. The department did not report any new deaths for either county.
As of Wednesday, Delta County has had 3,193 confirmed positives, 637 probable and 87 deaths, according to PHDMC. Menominee County had 1,736 confirmed cases, 314 probable and 39 deaths. The deaths included confirmed and probable.

ESCANABA State data Tuesday added 16 more confirmed COVID-19 positives in Delta County again the highest number of new cases in the Upper Peninsula along with a new death attributed to the virus.
Delta County leads the 15 U.P. counties in confirmed COVID-19 fatalities at 69.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Tuesday also had two new confirmed positives in Schoolcraft and one in Menominee County.

State data Tuesday indicated a quiet day for local COVID-19 activity with only one new confirmed positive each reported in Dickinson and Iron counties.
Across the border in Wisconsin, however, that state’s COVID-19 data site showed 20 new confirmed positives in Marinette County.
For the Upper Peninsula, the MDHHS on Tuesday had 45 new confirmed positives overall: 16 in Delta County; 13 in Marquette County; four in Houghton County; two in Schoolcraft, Baraga and Mackinac counties; and one each in Dickinson, Menominee, Iron, Chippewa, Luce and Keweenaw counties. Delta and Marquette counties each had a new coronavirus-related death.
Using only the state’s figures, the Upper Peninsula as of Tuesday has had 18,910 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 409 deaths.
