Because of the limited services, both aeronautical and accommodation, at the small resort cities, when things go wrong the result can be uncomfortable for airline crews.

WASHINGTON, DC – Over 30 local and regional airports have joined a growing coalition that is calling on the US government to open consultations with Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to address $42 billion in subsidies and other unfair benefits that the Gulf nations have provided to their state-owned airlines, violating Open Skies policy and threatening hundreds of thousands of American jobs.
Airports from across the country have sent letters to the U.S. Secretaries of the Transportation, Commerce and State, as well as members of Congress, asking that the government open consultations with Qatar and the UAE to address this important issue and to ensure fair competition.

Visiting Glacier National Park had been on Jim Schneider’s bucket list for years. So, he and his wife booked flights to Montana from Omaha, Nebraska and rented a cabin in June to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. But a few months before the flight Schneider realized they hadn’t reserved a car.
“There was not a rental car to be found anywhere around Kalispell,” Schneider says.
A shortage of microchips around the world has slowed car production and limited rental car supply after some companies sold off vehicles during last year’s pandemic-related economic downturn.
