We’re only at the mid-point of the season, so you have plenty of time to explore the long-awaited Sunrise Ski Zone, 380 acres of “ski it if you can” expert terrain on the southern flank of Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain. It opened last week following a dump of 51 inches of new snow the previous seven days.

KARGIL, Jan 30: As part of Zanskar Winter Sports and Youth Festival 2021, a Snow skiing competition was held at Padum, here today.
Secretary Youth Services and Sports Ladakh, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest and he inaugurated the competition.
Councillor Cha Stanzin Lakpa, Under Secretary Power Dr Ashwani Hansa, Under Secretary Sports Chand Singh, OSD to Secretary Sports Dr Tanzin Thakchos, Under Secretary Tourism Shabir Hussain, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar Sonam Dorjay besides Sub-Divisional officers, sports lovers and large number of local people were also present.

Pacific Northwest
The atmospheric river comes to an end on Thursday. But, smaller storm systems are lined-up. One on Friday and another on Sunday with light to moderate snow accumulation. Snow levels were high during the atmospheric river with high density snowfall on the highest volcanoes and highest Cascades.
Banff

JAMMU, Jan 7: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, chaired a high-level meeting to review all arrangements to be put in place for the second edition of Winter Games under Khelo India programme besides International Himalayan Snow Race. The mega national event will commence from February 11 and conclude on February 16 at Gulmarg.
ADGP Security, ADGP Traffic, Secretary Tourism, Youth Services and Sports, DG Youth Services & Sports, Secretary J&K Sports Council, MD JKSRTC, Joint Director Hospitality and Protocol were present in the meeting, where as Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, representatives of Winter Sports Association and other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conference.

Div Com, Kashmir distributes certificates, prizes among winners Gulmarg, January 01 (Scoop News)-On the first day of the New Year-2021, the Directorate of Tourism, Kashmir on Friday organized several colorful and entertaining Snow based events at Gulmarg amidst hundreds of Tourists and local youth enjoying the Sports bonanza.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole who was the Chief Guest on the occassion flagged off the seven races.
The thrilling Snow Sports races were organized in Snow Skiing, Snow Boarding, Snow Sludge, ATV, Snow Mobile, Snow Tube and Snow Cycling in which hundreds of local youth enthusiastically participated.
Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo, Director Tourism, Kashmir, Nisar Ahmad Wani, CEO, GDA, Inam-ul-Haq, Joint Director Tourism, Tabassum Kamili, Deputy Director, Publicity / Recreation, Ideel Saleem and Assistant Director, Gulmarg, Dr Javid-ur-Rehman were also present.
