LOS ANGELES - Hocus Pocus is making a comeback: Disney has confirmed the Sanderson sisters will return in fall 2022 with a sequel to the iconic Halloween film.
Disney announced the remake of the beloved Halloween movie in September 2020 and also revealed the production would be bringing back some of the main cast, including the original wicked sisters: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

The long-awaited sequel to 1993’s “Hocus Pocus” has a release date – well timeframe – set to hit Disney+ in Fall 2022 (that’s around the second half of the year for those not in the US of A).
“Hocus Pocus 2” will see Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker reprise their roles as the Sanderson Sisters. In the new film, three young women accidentally bring back the witches to the site of modern-day Salem, Massachusetts.
The film is being directed by Anne Fletcher, with production set to begin later this year. Fletcher took over directing duties from Adam Shankman, who exited the project due to scheduling conflicts.

Washington [US], May 21 (ANI): The fans of 1993 fantasy-comedy Hocus Pocus are in for a treat as its star castSarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy aka The Sanderson sisters are set to reprise their roles in Hocus Pocus 2, a sequel to the much-loved Disney classic.
According to Variety, Disney initially revealed plans for a follow-up film in 2019 with the hopes that the trio of actors would return, but Midler, Parker and Najimy hadn t formally confirmed their participation until now. Production is expected to begin this fall with Hocus Pocus 2 set to debut on Disney Plus sometime in 2022.
Hocus Pocus sequel in the works at Disney Plus, original cast to return
Adam Shankman, who was previously attached to helm the sequel, will now serve as an executive producer on the project.

Disney Studios had been planning to start the work on the sequel of the popular live-action film since 2019, and has finally got the original stars on board for a part two, scheduled to be released on its streaming platform Disney Plus in 2022.
