In early February, PAWS officers confiscated 77 animals from a farm that billed itself as a rescue facility. They removed 11 horses, 14 pigs, 47 birds, three dogs and two cats, according to a PAWS news release at the time.
Most of the animals were taken to Alaqua Animal Refuge in Freeport. PAWS kept and cared for the pigs until Sunday s adoption.
All of the pigs taken in by PAWS were females except for one and Whetstone said at least one other pig was pregnant at the time they were transferred to their new home.
The criminal case against the Laurel Hill farm is still under investigation, Whetstone said.
