Due to a low-pressure system and a strong winter pressure pattern, extremely strong wind is forecast to hit areas across Japan, with heavy snow falling mainly on the Sea of Japan side of the country on Jan. 29 and 30, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). On Jan. 28, the JMA called for people to remain on their guard against traffic disruptions due to blizzards, as well as strong winds and very stormy seas.
