PUT-IN-BAY - While the summer season is still a few weeks away, one local island house and its family of colorful critters are already enjoying the latest heat wave.
The Butterfly House, a 4,000-square-foot aviary at Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center, 979 Catawba Ave., Put-in-Bay, has been aflutter with activity since opening earlier this month. The aviary is home to hundreds of butterflies, including a variety of more than 50 different exotic species.
At the cost of $10 for adults or $6 for children ages 6-12, visitors can explore the large indoor garden, get up close and interact with the many butterflies that fly throughout the facility. Entry is free for children ages 5 and under.
