Bangladesh national team coach Martin Frederick said on Tuesday that he still keeps faith in Ruman Shana because he showed his worth there scoring the highest 679 in the 3-day ranking tournament held at the archery camp in Tongi last month.
The country’s premier archer Shana was also included in the 11-member team comprising 8 archers and 3 officials despite showing dismissal performances in the previous two national competitions Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games and Bangabandhu 12th Teer National Archery Championships.
Bangladeshi archers are going to take part in Archery World Championship stage two after a 17-month break, scheduled to be held on May 17-23 at Lausanne in Switzerland.

National weightlifter Ziarul Islam admitted that they are far behind compared to their foreign competitors in terms of facilities and it made them fail incessantly during the international meets.
Ziarul, who recently broke the national record in the men’s 102kg event by lifting a total of 262kg during the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games and won the gold medal as well, lifted 264kg (123kg snatch + 141kg clean and jerk) in Asian Weightlifting Championship in Uzbekistan last month.
Despite his career-best performance, Ziarul failed to make an impact during the meet as he finished last (ninth out of nine competitors) in the event.

Young national swimmer Junaina Ahmed is over the moon after she heard that she will participate in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics, scheduled to be held from July 23 to August 8.
The 17-year old England based swimmer was beaming with confidence and more than anything else looked relieved to repay the struggle of her parents as they sacrificed their time to back her pursuing her dream since the age of six.
“I’m very excited, it feels like a dream come true,” Junaina told The Daily Sun on Thursday.
