HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - If you live in Madison County and need help paying your rent, help is getting closer.
Members of the Madison County Commission added guidelines to the rental assistance program.
The commissioners say they are still several weeks away from writing checks to landlords, but on Wednesday, April 14th, they discussed who can apply for the $5.2 million, and the size of the checks you can apply for.
The commissioners once again butted heads.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - A Huntsville woman who lost her son in a deadly standoff with police says she hasnât seen justice.
Brad Pugh was shot 16 times and died in a police standoff in the Five Points Community.
Monday, April 5th, Bradâs mother put up a billboard at the intersection of Bob Wallace and Memorial Parkway. There will soon be three more just like it around Huntsville.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Senator Tommy Tuberville is in Madison County this week.
He’s visiting to get familiar with Huntsville’s Space and Defense Missions, as leaders in Washington D.C. prepare their budget.
Senator Tuberville is a member of the Armed Services Committee, and he wants to see what leaders at the Arsenal need.
“We spent four hours talking about almost every part of the space program and their plans. They have a great plan, not just going to the moon, but also to Mars. Hopefully in my lifetime we get to do that, but it’s going to have to be a lot of work between now and then. It takes money, it takes organization, and of course the people here, for years have been on top of everything,” said Tuberville.

Everyone living in the âMill Street tent campsâ have to pack up and move.
City leaders say with the current Church Street construction project, a big portion of the area where the tents and homeless camps are set up must go so mitigation work can start soon.
Leaders with several non-profits including the Salvation Army, the Downtown Rescue Mission, First Stop and Wellstone, notified the residents their doors are open and help is available for them to safely relocate.

Leaders with the North Huntsville Business Association received a $50,000 grant from Google Fiber and theyâre using the money to help with business development.
Up for grabs is an office for a business owner to use exclusively, access to a board room and perhaps the most valuable asset â getting mentored by other business executives.
