Thousands of homes across Western Australia s south-west are without power this morning after heavy rain and damaging winds battered the region overnight.
A severe weather warning remains in place for much of the area this morning, including Perth, with destructive winds and abnormally high tides forecast as part of an ongoing cold front that struck yesterday afternoon.
Bickley recorded the most rain in the metropolitan area, with 54 millimetres since 9:00am yesterday, while most other suburbs recorded between 20 and 30mm.

Heavy rain has extinguished the fire threat in Western Australia s south, but the wet weather is creating other challenges for the state s emergency services.

Strong winds and rain battered areas south of Mandurah throughout Sunday as a low pressure system moved down the coast.

Heavy rain and damaging winds are set to hit southwest Western Australia as an intense low-pressure system moves across the state.
Wind gusts of more than 100 km/h and isolated rainfall totals of up to 100mm are possible across Sunday and into Monday.
The Bureau of Meteorology says parts of the midwest Gascoyne, Perth, the southwest, lower southwest and the Great Southern region will feel the brunt of the severe weather.
There has been widespread flooding in the Gascoyne region due to heavy rain associated with the tropical low, located off Carnarvon.
