As work on the construction of the integrated Secretariat complex gathers pace, the State government has embarked upon a study of materials used and designs adopted in constructing some of the landmark structures in Delhi, to incorporate them in the exteriors and interiors of the new complex.
Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy led a team of officials to check the stones used in the construction of various iconic structures in New Delhi. The delegation comprised engineer-in-chief Ganapathi Reddy, architect Oscar Concessao and a representative of the Shapoorji Pallonji group, which is executing the more than ₹600 crore project.

Mumbai, Feb 18 : The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved the settlement claim of Rs 707.709 crore made by Fagne Sonagarh Expressway Limited (FSEL), a special purpose vehicle of IL&FS for the expressway project, from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The settlement amount will be paid by NHAI under the approved guidelines for resolution of road projects that have been stuck for various reasons. The NHAI Conciliation Committee had last year approved the claim for FSEL.

New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Ministry has decided that all lanes in the fee plazas on National Highways shall be declared as FASTag lane of the fee plaza from midnight of 15th/16th February 2021, the government said in a statement.
Any vehicle not fitted with FASTag will have to pay twice the fee for the category of the vehicle they are driving at electronic toll plazas across India.

× The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has given approval to the settlement of ₹707.70 crore claim made by Fagne Sonagarh Expressway (FSEL), a special purpose vehicle of IL&FS for the expressway project, from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The tribunal, chaired by members Mohammed Ajmal and V Nallasenapathy, allowed FSEL to receive the settlement amount of Rs 707.70 crore (subject to any deduction of tax as applicable and any further withholding of an amount of ₹16.93 crore towards royalty payment). NHAI will pay the settlement amount under the approved guidelines for resolution of road projects that have been stuck for various reasons.
NEW DELHI: Road traffic deaths due to speeding have increased by more than 60% in the past five years - from 64,633 in 2015 to 1.02 lakh in 2019. The share of speeding as a cause of road crashes too has also gone up from 44% to 67% during this period. Though the exact reasons of the bus crash that claimed 48 lives in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday would be known after a detailed investigation, there are reports suggesting speeding could be one of the reasons.
According to the published data of road transport and highways ministry on crashes and fatalities till 2019 show that the number of crashes due to speeding was around 2.4 lakh in 2015 and this increased to 3.19 lakh in 2019. The trend of speeding beyond the allowed speed limit as the main cause of crashes and fatalities has been going up across the country.
