For more than a decade, Poetry Out Loud has given New Mexico high school students a platform for their words.
This year may look a little different as the competition is virtual. Nonetheless, six students will compete to become state champion.

The six finalists – Vanessa Sosa of Arrowhead Park Early College High School in Las Cruces, Analisa Ibarra of La Cueva High School, Barbara Akin of Los Lunas High School, Zoe Sloan Callan of the Native American Community Academy, Michelle Montez of Taos High School and Jenna Tulonen of Volcano Vista High School – earned their shot after competing at the classroom level.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) â The results are out for the 38th annual Kern County History Day. Students from across the county competed in Kern County History Day, held virtually this year.
Competition judging ended today. Groups and individuals who scored high enough in each category are now able to participate in the virtual California History Day in May.
This year s competition theme is: Communication in History: The Key to Understanding. Students have been researching since the beginning of the school year. The students have prepared papers, exhibits, performances, documentaries and websites designed around the theme.
