DALLAS A first round of winners have been announced in the 66th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. Nearly a thousand distinguished high school seniors have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards all financed by some 140 company foundations, corporations and other business organizations. The roster of scholars was selected from applicants who advanced to the Finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met criteria of their scholarship sponsors.
