The week between June 19 and June 25 saw the peak as 1.5 lakh doses each were given to recipients in both districts. Over 70% of Noida’s entire vaccination had been carried out between the second week of May and June-end, though the drive has been going on since January. In June itself, about 40% of all doses were given. Throughout the month, the district has vaccinated over one lakh people every week. Noida is also leading among all districts of Uttar Pradesh, with 12.3 lakh doses administered till now.

Representative image GHAZIABAD/NOIDA: Although the Centre has released a set of guidelines for inoculating pregnant women, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad districts are yet to implement those. Officials said they are waiting for a directive from the state government to start the process. Sources said it may take around mid-July for both Noida and Ghaziabad to start vaccinating pregnant women. According to the Centre’s guidelines issued on Thursday, pregnant women can take the vaccines. “So far, we have not received any order to start inoculating pregnant women. We will open slots for them as soon as we get an order,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi, the district immunisation officer, Gautam Budh Nagar.

Vaccine camps to be set up in highrises next mth | Noida News

Noida: The health department will set up vaccination camps at housing societies across the district through the month of July. Each complex will be told about the schedule three days in advance and around 150 teams have been formed for managing the sessions. Awareness drives have already started and in rural areas and residents will be given a slip with details of their nearest vaccination centre. According to officials, Noida has submitted a micro plan to the state government to cover each cluster in the district. “We will have 138 teams in 65 clusters for both urban and rural areas. We will reach out to the housing societies and work out the details with the Apartment Owners’ Associations (AOAs). Residents do not have to apply anywhere individually,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi, the district immunisation officer.

On Saturday, Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni visited the protest in Loni’s Mandola village and backed the protesters. The farm agitation at the Delhi borders has been going on for the last seven months and has generated nationwide debate. But here, farmers from six villages have been agitating over enhanced compensation for the past four and a half years, but to no avail, said Neeraj Tyagi, a representative of the Mandola farmers.
