AUSTINTOWN A man was arrested in Warren on an Austintown warrant stemming from an April drug incident in the township.
Casey Carpenter, 37, who lists addresses in Warren and Austintown on police and court documents, is facing charges of drug abuse, possessing drug instruments and drug paraphernalia.
Austintown police saw a vehicle travel left of center on Burkey Road about 6:27 p.m. April 4. During the traffic stop, police found Carpenter nervous, shaking and breathing heavily. When he stepped out of the vehicle, police found a marijuana grinder and marijuana residue on the driver’s side floorboard, the police report states.
A search of Carpenter yielded a cut straw and a search of the vehicle ensued. Marijuana was found near the center console as well as two syringes, two suspected meth pipes and two bags of suspected methamphetamine. The substance was tested and revealed a positive presence for meth, the report states.

Shepherds To Settle Conspiracy Claim After Attys Find Client
Law360 (April 15, 2021, 7:23 PM EDT) Peruvian shepherds who allege that ranchers conspired to suppress their wages while on temporary work visas have reached a settlement over their remaining claims, after a Colorado federal court criticized their counsel for losing track of one of the workers.
Counsel for the shepherds filed a response on Thursday to a show-cause order issued last month by U.S. Magistrate Judge Scott T. Varholak, who said it was troubling that attorneys failed to notify the court they had been unable to contact client Esliper Huaman since at least late 2019, when the Tenth Circuit revived the case.

OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) Casey Cameron was sentenced Friday to 40 years in prison for the murder of Kevin “Hollywood” Hein.
Cameron was also placed on extended supervision for 15 years by Judge Scott Woldt.
Before sentence was issued, Cameron turned to Hein’s family and apologized.
“I am so sorry for what I have done and for what took from you. And I know that I can’t take it back. If I could, I absolutely would. I don’t have anything else except my apology,” he said.
Previously, Cameron pleaded no contest to felony murder and other counts for the Oct. 14, 2019 incident at the Short Branch Saloon in Neenah.
