MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KFVS) - The Bollinger County Courthouse will be operating under Phase Zero beginning Tuesday, January 26 through at least 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9.
This applies to the Circuit Court of Bollinger County on the second floor only, not the county offices on the first floor.
Under Phase Zero, all in-person hearings are suspended and only emergency matters will be heard.
According to Judge Scott A. Lipke, the suspension of in-person hearings is due to at least one courthouse employee testing positive for COVID-19.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) – A Florida school might have to pay up for forcing second-graders to run laps in an auditorium and the resulting injury that occurred when a young girl ran face-first into the glass edge of a table.
The First District Court of Appeal’s Jan. 11 decision reverses judgment for Gateway Academy of Walton County, which has been sued by Sophia Collias through her parents.
The table was not an “open and obvious” hazard, and a fact-finder could find Gateway was negligent in placing it where it did, says the ruling from Judge Scott Makar.
“Telling seven-year-olds to look forward and avoid distractions when running with classmates on a makeshift running course fails to account for the higher duty of care and is insufficient to avoid liability under these circumstances,” Makar wrote.
DENVER — A magistrate judge on Friday ordered a Woodland Park man suspected of being affiliated with a militia and accused of assaulting officers in the deadly U.S. Capitol riot
Violent protesters, loyal to President Donald Trump, storm the Capitol, Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, in Washington.
Despite letters from family and friends of 24-year-old Robert Gieswein that described him as gentle and kind with aspirations of becoming a law enforcement officer, a federal judge has ordered the Woodland Park man accused of storming the U.S. Capitol building to stay in jail ahead of his preliminary hearing.
Magistrate Judge Scott T. Varholak clearly struggled with the decision during a virtual court appearance Friday. He acknowledged that he let another Colorado defendant facing charges associated with the U.S. Capitol riot, Patrick Montgomery, out on a no-bail personal recognizance bond ahead of his court dates. Montgomery is charged with illegally entering a federal building.
