AUSTINTOWN A man was arrested in Warren on an Austintown warrant stemming from an April drug incident in the township.
Casey Carpenter, 37, who lists addresses in Warren and Austintown on police and court documents, is facing charges of drug abuse, possessing drug instruments and drug paraphernalia.
Austintown police saw a vehicle travel left of center on Burkey Road about 6:27 p.m. April 4. During the traffic stop, police found Carpenter nervous, shaking and breathing heavily. When he stepped out of the vehicle, police found a marijuana grinder and marijuana residue on the driver’s side floorboard, the police report states.
A search of Carpenter yielded a cut straw and a search of the vehicle ensued. Marijuana was found near the center console as well as two syringes, two suspected meth pipes and two bags of suspected methamphetamine. The substance was tested and revealed a positive presence for meth, the report states.

Dec. 10, 7:15 p.m. Shoplifting was reported at Home Depot, 6100 Mahoning Ave. Witnesses said the suspect was a white man in a gold Dodge Durango.
4:30 p.m. Following a call to Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. regarding a woman asking for money, Shante E. Crawford, 25, 2686 Duke Ave., Warren, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespassing after having previously been warned off the property.
4:14 p.m. Money was stolen from a wallet at Infocision, 5740 Patriot Blvd.
12:56 p.m. Fraudulent checks reported at The Manor, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road.
9:42 a.m. A delivered package reported stolen from a front porch at 4775 Pinetrace Drive.
